2022 Abstract Submission Guidelines

Regular Abstract Deadline: CLOSED (January 19, 2022)
Late-Breaker Abstract Deadline CLOSED (March 16, 2022)

Late-Breaker Abstracts: Original research that is not completed until after the regular submission deadline for completed research may be eligible for submission as a late-breaking abstract. The content must meet criteria for urgency and significant scientific importance to be considered in this category.

• All abstracts must be submitted via this website.
• All abstracts must be submitted in English.
• All abstracts must be relevant to supportive care in cancer.
• The abstract title should not exceed 150 characters.
• Each abstract should not exceed 1500 characters including spaces (the submission platform will show you a live character count at the bottom of the page)
• The following structure must be followed when submitting an abstract:

- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
• In addition to completing the submission form, you must also complete the following by the submission deadline:  
- Presenting Author Information: Complete this survey to provide the presenter's profile photo, short biography, designations, affiliations, and completed Conflict of Interest form (click to download form)
• At least ONE (1) co-author of each accepted abstract must be registered by the Early Bird Deadline for the accepted abstract to be included in the Scientific Program and published in the journal Supportive Care in Cancer. All presenting authors (in-person or virtual) must register. Register Now  
Presentation Type

Choose one of the following presentation types:
     • e-Poster Presentation
     • Proffered Paper (oral) Presentation

An individual may be the presenting author on a maximum of TWO (2) abstracts.

Authorship
The submitting author should also be the author for correspondence. An individual may be the submitting author on a maximum of two abstracts but can be co-author on any number of abstracts.

The presenting author may or may not be the submitting/corresponding author. An individual may be the presenting author on a maximum of TWO (2) abstracts.
Basic Information
• Full first and family name(s) of submitting/corresponding author and all co-authors.
• Affiliation details of submitting author and all co-authors: department, institution hospital, city, state (if relevant), country.
• Abstract title – The title is limited to 150 characters in UPPER CASE (e.g., COMMON BLEEDING DISORDERS).
• Abstract text – The text is limited to 1500 characters including spaces (including spaces).
• Keywords - Please enter 1 to 6 keywords that define your abstract. The keywords must be in English and can include numbers.

Abstracts must be allocated to a specific topic for the Scientific Program. Choose from the list of topics:

Submission Requirements

All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. If you need help, please arrange for the review of your abstract by a colleague who is a native English speaker, by a university scientific publications office (or other similar facility), or by a copy editor, prior to submission.

Each abstract can contain up to three images or tables.

The submitting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submitting.

Upon submission, the submitting author confirms that the abstract has been proofread and that all information is correct.

Changes to the abstract can be made until the submission deadline. The submitting/corresponding author accepts that the content of the abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission and that it will be published exactly as submitted.

Abstracts containing previously presented data are eligible for submission. However, inclusion of updated data is encouraged.

Only accepted abstracts with at least ONE co-author registered for the Annual Meeting and have paid the registration fee by the Early Bird Registration Deadline will be published in the journal Supportive Care in Cancer.

Only accepted abstracts with at least ONE co-author registered for the Annual Meeting and have paid the registration fee by the Early Bird Registration Deadline will be included in the Scientific Program. All presenting authors (in-person or virtual) must register. One of the abstract authors must attend the Annual Meeting and present/record the abstract presentation (by the specified deadline) to ensure that it is included in the Scientific Program.

The identity of the presenting author can be changed until the Early Bird Registration Deadline.

All notifications regarding abstract status, including notifications regarding abstract submission, abstract acceptance and scheduling, will be sent to the corresponding author. The corresponding author will be responsible for informing the other co-authors about the status of the abstract.

The MASCC/ISOO 2022 Scientific Committee will determine acceptance for presentation at the Annual Meeting.

Accepted abstracts and scholarship/award recipients will be notified by email.
