Entry Requirements into Canada - Border Services & COVID-19 Rules

When you enter Canada, a Canada Border Services Agent will ask you to present your passport and a valid visa (if one is necessary).

Note: If your proof of vaccination is not in English or French, you need a certified translation in English or French. Your certified translation must include the stamp or membership number of a professional translation association.

If you are a visa-exempt foreign national arriving by air, you may require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Eligible travelers can apply online for an eTA. To find out more, please visit www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/eta.html.

*It can take up to 12 weeks to receive an entry visa for Canada. Some delegates may require an invitation letter from MASCC to apply for a visa or enter the country. To request one, please contact [email protected].

Getting Here - By Air (Airline Partners & Discounts) 

When arranging your flights from international destinations, you will want to fly into Toronto Pearson International Airport. There are over 70 airlines serving Toronto Pearson International Airport and air carriers provide non-stop service to numerous destinations in Canada, the United States and the world. Air Canada and WestJet are our official airline partners (see below for booking websites and discount codes).

If you are flying from domestic locations in Eastern Canada, or from major US cities in the North East, you may also look to fly into Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ). The airport is located on Toronto Island, just a short 10-minute ferry ride or 10-minute walk in the underwater tunnel to downtown Toronto. Porter Airlines and Air Canada are the only airlines who cater to this airport.

Getting to the Westin Harbour Castle from Toronto Pearson International Airport
You may take a 30-minute taxi ride (depending on the time of day). This will cost approximately $60 CAD. Alternatively, you may take the UP Express, a train service located in Terminal 1 at Toronto Pearson International Airport to take you to Union Station in downtown Toronto. You may purchase in advance online at www.upexpress.com and use the code "MASCC22" to receive 25% off advanced purchased one-way or return trip tickets between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Union Station for service until June 30, 2022.  Alternatively, you may visit a kiosk at the station upon arrival. The cost of a ticket is $13 CAD one-way, or $25 CAD round-trip. From Union Station, you may take a 5-minute taxi ride to the hotel or you may choose to walk.

From Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, you may take a 10-minute taxi ride (depending on the time of day). This will cost approximately $15 CAD.

Getting Here - By Rail

VIA Rail and AMTRAK bring visitors into the heart of the city each day to Toronto’s Union Station from domestic and nearby US cities. Union Station is a short 5-minute taxi ride to the Westin Harbour Castle (depending on the time of day). This will cost approximately $15 CAD.

Getting Here - By Road

Several highways, including the 404/Don Valley Parkway, 401, and Queen Elizabeth Way link surrounding cities to Toronto. For those driving from the south, the nearest Canada-U.S. border crossings are at Niagara Falls, Fort Erie and Windsor. The Westin Harbour Castle has on-site valet or self-parking available (costs apply).
