MASCC Affiliates in Supportive Care

2019    MASCC has been working to strengthen relationships with national associations of supportive care in cancer around the world. Partnering with other organizations helps to promote supportive care at the local level with special attention to each nation’s particular needs and resources, as well as economic and cultural issues. The aim is to create a global network of supportive care organizations that allows for international collaboration, as well as enhancing the experiences of cancer patients worldwide.

MASCC serves as an international-level umbrella organization with national-level supportive care organizations as affiliated partners. By reciprocal agreement, all members of national affiliates automatically become MASCC members and all current MASCC members residing in the country of a national affiliate become members of the national-level organization.

These new MASCC members receive full member benefits, including electronic access to the MASCC journal, Supportive Care in Cancer, discounted registration fees at MASCC conferences, membership in MASCC Study Groups, opportunities to participate in international projects (such as guideline development), and the MASCC Society News. MASCC membership also ensures opportunities for mentorship and opportunities for networking with international leaders in the field of supportive cancer care.

MASCC has recently signed affiliation agreements with the Association Francophone des Soins Oncologiques de Support (AFSOS), the French association for supportive care in cancer and with the Network Italiano Cure di Supporto in Oncologia (NICSO), the Italian network of supportive care in oncology. Read more about AFSOS and NICSO.
